High altitude for the first time! The largest medium voltage power supply vehicle in China successfully connected to the grid in Qinghai

On May 20th, State Grid Qinghai Provincial Electric Power Company successfully carried out on-site grid connection operation of a 3000 kW medium voltage power supply vehicle in Xining City. This is the first time in Qinghai Province and also the first time in high-altitude areas across the country that the medium voltage power supply vehicle with the highest power in China has officially settled in Qinghai, helping Qinghai's power distribution network to take uninterrupted operation to a new level.



It is understood that the medium voltage power supply vehicle is mainly powered by a 3000 kW gas turbine and uses turboprop aviation engines. It has advantages such as high output power and clean emissions. The vehicle has three working modes: independent power generation, grid connected power generation, and uninterrupted load transfer, which can meet the needs of emergency protection, livelihood guarantee, and uninterrupted power supply.

"This power supply vehicle plays a significant role in improving the level and ability of uninterrupted power supply operations in Qinghai distribution network. Traditional power maintenance requires power outages, and the introduction of a 3000 kW power supply vehicle enables uninterrupted power supply during the maintenance process, greatly improving the quality and efficiency of power services." Ren Yizhang, the management specialist of the Operation and Inspection Department of State Grid Xining Power Supply Company, introduced.

As the first integrated 3000 kW medium voltage power supply vehicle on the plateau, this vehicle can continuously output 80% of the full load power at an altitude of 4500 meters, while ordinary power supply vehicles can only reach 63%. The plateau has superior performance, high power generation quality, and fast response speed. It can quickly intervene in the distribution network at critical moments, ensuring uninterrupted power supply in case of network maintenance, relocation, or other emergencies.

Feng Chao, the head of the Qinghai Electric Power Equipment Management Department of State Grid, said that high-power power generation vehicles are not only an important power guarantee tool, but also an important means to improve the quality of power supply services, achieve technological innovation and green development. Its introduction and application will further enhance the power guarantee capacity of Qinghai power grid, providing strong support for the economic development and social progress of Qinghai.
