Huawei charger USB-A/C integration has sparked heated discussions: why is it designed like this?

On May 13th, KuaiTech reported that the designs of several chargers, including Huawei 88W and 100W, have sparked heated discussions among netizens. The use of USB-A/C fusion interfaces has made it difficult for many people to accept.

In the eyes of some users, adopting a USB-A/C fusion interface design is completely unacceptable because it cannot be maximized.

In fact, this design has caused some controversy before, but Huawei's BG CTO, Bruce Lee, explained that this is to provide users with a better user experience.

Bruce Lee explained, "A and C can only output voltage from one port at a time. In order to prevent users from plugging in wires but not outputting voltage, which may result in not charging or mistakenly thinking that the charger is faulty, physical interference is used, allowing users to only insert one charging wire at the same time. This design also reduces the learning cost for users."

However, there are also some users who like this design, after all, the original intention of this design is not a dual port, just a single port. It's like giving you an extra choice.

Some users have provided feedback that if two ports are plugged in simultaneously, they cannot be used at the same time. One port is powered on, while the other port is powered off.
