Shanxi Evening News On March 18th, Shanxi Evening News learned from the Provincial Department of Transportation that the production and consumption of new energy vehicles are growing rapidly in many regions, advancing towards building a new highland for green development. In order to better support the development of new energy vehicles in rural areas and rural revitalization, accelerate the layout of green and low-carbon new tracks led by methanol and new energy vehicles, actively promote green and low-carbon lifestyles and consumption models, and accelerate the construction of charging infrastructure in many areas of our province.
According to data statistics from the Provincial Department of Transportation, by the end of the 13th Five Year Plan, the total number of motor vehicles in the province was about 7.5 million, and the total number of electric vehicles was about 125000, accounting for 1.67%, which is basically on par with the national level. In 2020, the province promoted 37168 electric vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 61.52%, accounting for 30.97% of the total promotion volume during the 13th Five Year Plan period. As of the end of 2022, the total number of motor vehicles in the province was about 9.5394 million, and the total number of electric vehicles was about 287500, accounting for 3.01%, a year-on-year increase of 51.38%. Among them, the number of electric vehicles in Taiyuan City accounts for about 40% of the province's total, while Yuncheng and Linfen rank second and third respectively, accounting for 14.82% and 10.61%, respectively.
Last year, Taiyuan City built 20882 new charging stations and built a total of 41283 new energy vehicle charging facilities, ranking among the top in terms of overall scale, public charging station density, and coverage in major cities across the country. This year, Taiyuan City will aim to build a moderately advanced, balanced, intelligent and efficient charging infrastructure system, and systematically plan and scientifically and reasonably formulate a city wide charging infrastructure layout plan with residential areas, office areas, commercial centers, industrial centers, and leisure centers as the focus, and districts and counties as the basic units.
In Jinzhong City, 1683 new public charging stations will be added this year. To support the development of new energy vehicles and facilitate the travel of the general public, Jinzhong City actively promotes the construction of charging (swapping) infrastructure and weaves a dense electric vehicle charging network. As of the end of 2023, a total of 3314 public charging stations have been built in Jinzhong, which can meet the charging needs of 24600 electric vehicles.
In 2023, Jincheng City will build 1785 new public charging stations, exceeding the annual target of building 1200 new charging stations for the whole year. There are 3974 charging stations connected to the provincial regulatory platform in Jincheng City, with a total power of 167000 kilowatts, a cumulative charging capacity of 14.388 million kilowatt hours, carbon reduction of 14000 tons, and fuel savings of 8.633 million liters.
Officials from the Provincial Department of Transportation stated that the service capacity for charging (swapping) infrastructure construction in our province continues to improve. Our Provincial Energy Bureau and State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company have cooperated to build a government regulatory service platform for charging infrastructure in Shanxi Province. The platform integrates charging facility access, monitoring, regulation, data analysis, and convenient services, consisting of a regulatory platform and the "Three Jin Smart Charging" mobile app. In combination with the construction of the electricity market mechanism, a pilot project for "new energy+electric vehicles" smart energy has been carried out, and an integrated smart energy management platform for vehicle piles has been preliminarily built. More than 20000 charging piles have been aggregated, achieving full coverage in 11 cities throughout the province.
