Can the eye protection mode of a mobile phone really protect the eyes?

Article Source:Kinri Energy | Author:Kinri Energy | Issuing Time:2024.05.18
Once staying up late to play computer games, now playing with mobile phones without sleeping, mobile phones are gradually replacing computers as the most commonly used entertainment and internet tool. Due to their portability, people can play anytime, anywhere and in various positions. I had fun playing, but many people's eyes were also blurred. Especially for children and adolescents who are growing and developing, excessive use of mobile phones can easily lead to myopia. Is there a good preventive measure? Kinri Energy suggests that in addition to scheduling your time properly, you can also activate your phone's eye protection mode while using it.

What exactly harms the eyes while using a mobile phone? In fact, the culprit is the "blue light" emitted by the screen. The light emitted by the screen is mainly short wave high-energy blue light at the end of the visible spectrum, and the wavelength of high-energy blue light is between 380-450nm. Research has shown that human cells lose their activity when exposed to wavelengths in the range of 415-450nm, which is exactly the wavelength range of light emitted by mobile phone screens.

Many smartphones nowadays have introduced eye protection modes, which block blue light, adjust screen brightness to increase the yellow tone, and use soft armor algorithms to reduce blue light, thereby allowing for more fusion of red and green light in RGB tones, forming the commonly seen yellow light on the screen. This can block out some of the blue light.

However, it should be noted that even if the eye protection mode is turned on, only a portion of the blue light can be blocked. Therefore, if you do not want yourself or your child to put on glasses early, it is still important to control your usage time.
