Will inferior charging cables damage your phone?

Article Source:Kinri Energy | Author:Kinri Energy | Issuing Time:2024.04.12

Mobile phone charging cable is an essential item for charging mobile phones in daily life. If inferior charging cables are used, it can bring many hazards to the phone. So, how should we choose a charging cable? How should we take care of it?

The hazards of low-quality charging cables

1. Slow charging speed

The performance of a charging cable depends mainly on the voltage and voltage drop when it is loaded with current. Currently, most of the low-quality charging cables on the market have unstable current, which leads to slower charging speeds for mobile phones. Using low-quality charging cables for charging can also shorten the lifespan of mobile phone batteries.

2. Slow transmission speed

The length of the charging cable can affect the transmission speed. Within a certain range of length, the length of a qualified data cable will not have a significant impact on the transmission speed. Most low-quality charging cables use low-quality cores to save costs, resulting in slower transmission speed and even heating of the charging cable, which can easily trigger fires and cause safety hazards.

3. The wire head is prone to breakage and damage

Poor quality charging cables are prone to breakage and breakage due to the use of low-quality wire skins, or the occurrence of overheating of the wire core, repeated insertion and removal, and prolonged winding during use.

4. Unstable current damages hardware

Poor quality charging cables may burn out the internal hardware of the phone during use due to the unstable current provided. A qualified charging cable will generate a limiting voltage when the current is too high, thereby protecting the phone from damage.

How to choose a charging cable?

1. Internal wire core

For the internal core of the charging cable, it is best to use pure copper wire material for production. Copper is a material with good conductivity, which can improve the charging rate, and copper has good toughness and is not easy to break.

At the same time, the copper core of the high-quality charging wire is relatively thick, and a layer of aluminum foil shielding layer and metal woven mesh will be added to make the charging and transmission process more stable.

2. Charging cable length

The longer the charging line, the greater the line resistance, and the more current loss it will have. Therefore, the shorter the charging line, the faster the charging speed will be. If the charging cable is too long, line noise can generate errors, which can affect the speed of data transmission. When selecting, it is best to choose a charging cable with a length of about 1 meter.

3. Production process

There are approximately three manufacturing processes for most charging cables:

The first type is products from low-quality manufacturers, and the external wire skin of such products is made by assembling plastic shells, which are easy to break and damage;

The external wire skin of the second product is made of hard plastic, which is relatively durable compared to the first one;

The external wire skin of the third product is woven with high fiber nylon, so this type of product is more durable compared to the first two.

How to maintain the charging cable?

1. Be gentle when plugging and unplugging the charging cable

When plugging and unplugging the charging cable, try to unplug it gently. It is recommended not to directly pull the flexible cable, as this can easily cause breakage. It should be plugged and unplugged from the head of the charging cable connector.

2. Avoid approaching fire sources

The surface of the charging cable is mostly made of gum material. If it is close to a very hot object, it may cause thermal expansion and contraction of the charging cable surface, and over time, it may even break.
