Hello Microelectronics applies for a patent for voltage conversion circuits and chargers to reduce the possibility of hot carrier injection during the conduction process of switches

Article Source:China National Intellectual Property Administration | Author:Financial Sector | Issuing Time:2024.04.11
On April 10, 2024, the financial sector reported that according to the announcement of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, Halo Microelectronics Group Co., Ltd. applied for a patent named "voltage conversion circuit and charger", with the publication number of CN117856614A and the application date of March 2024.

The patent abstract shows that the present application discloses a voltage conversion circuit and charger, which relates to the field of electronic circuit technology. The voltage conversion circuit includes an input terminal, an output terminal, a first energy storage branch, a second energy storage branch, a third energy storage branch, and a control branch. The control branch is used to control the conduction and shutdown of switches in the first, second, and third energy storage branches, so that the voltage ratio between the input and output ends is 2N: 1. Among them, in each switching cycle, the tenth switch in the third energy storage branch conducts later than at least one switch in the same phase as it in the third energy storage branch. Through the above methods, it is possible to reduce the leakage source voltage difference when some switches in the voltage conversion circuit conduct by controlling the conduction order of the switches, and even achieve zero voltage switching, thereby reducing the possibility of hot carrier injection during the conduction process of the switches. This is beneficial for improving the reliability and lifespan of switch devices, as well as improving the efficiency of voltage conversion circuits.
